The TTSA is looking to recruit trainee primary and secondary teachers with the potential to become outstanding. As an alliance, we support you on the journey to achieving this.
Applications are initially made via UCAS; should you meet the minimum criteria, you will be invited to interview with our panel.

Qualifications and experience:
- Degree 2:2 or above (or equivalent).
Minimum of five A*- C grade GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics, English Language and Science.
Strong subject knowledge.
Knowledge of issues linked to education.
In addition all applicants will also need to:
Demonstrate a passion for working with young people, not just a passion for their subject(s).
Be able to evidence why teaching is the right career for them.
Have successfully completed the Professional Skills’ tests in Literacy and Numeracy. Information regarding this can be found here: www.education.gov.uk/ get-into-teaching (please note that is completed after successful application for a place).
- Complete a declaration regarding any criminal convictions, have a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and satisfactory references, ensuring their suitability to work with young people.
- Enjoyment of working with children and young people.
Commitment to a career in teaching.
Reflection on previous experience in school.
Effective communication skills including use of written and spoken English.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to relate to and engage with young people.
Displays a range of personal characteristics including flexibility, communication, independence and resilience.
Ability to explain concepts clearly.
Ability to work effectively as part of a group.
Is it necessary to have school experience before applying?
